Sound waves
15th Apr 2024
Today we learned that sound travels in waves. When we hear a sound it vibrates into our ears and eardrums, where the vibrations make the hammer hit the anvil. This in turn sends an electrical signal to the brain which we hear as a sound. To demonstrate this, we made cones to talk into and listen with. These magnified the vibrations so we could hear our friends talking to us even from a distance. It was great fun and we look forward to doing more sound experiments this week.
We also learned how to sign our names with ISL and below you’ll find a video of us singing and signing “Happy Birthday”! Enjoy!
