Visit to the Library- a Place of Sanctuary!
26th Sep 2024
On Tuesday, 4th, 5th and 6th Class were invited to attend a presentation in the library. The library is Place of Sanctuary. Leona, from the library, talked to us about their journey to become a Place of Sanctuary. She talked about the principles of the programme- learn, action and share. She also shared with us all the resources available at the library. We were excited to hear about their many story books about refugees and asylum seekers, their dual language books and apps for language books also.
We also were given the opportunity to get creative. Orla, from the library, had set up an art workshop for us. The girls were told to write and draw what comes to mind when they think of the word 'Sanctuary.' Look at our wonderful art pieces below! These will be hung up in the library for everyone to see!
